Enrichment Grants
Enrichment grants support innovative classroom experiences and experiential opportunities for Newport Public Schools students that are not otherwise funded through the school budget. Awards and projects span all grade levels from kindergarten through 12th grade, and all grants support an aspect of the Newport Public Schools strategic plan. Since our inception in 1991, we have awarded more than $770,000 in grants to classroom teachers and community partners.
Bus for a Cause
Bus for a Cause grants fulfill needs that may arise unexpectedly when educators receive an opportunity for an experiential activity that requires transportation which has not been planned or budgeted. Requests are accepted on a rolling basis.
Each year, Bus for a Cause grants allow hundreds of students to explore their community and extend their learning beyond the classroom. Past trips have included the University of Rhode Island’s Coastal Resources Center, Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, Center for Leadership and Educational Equity and Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
Annual Scholarships
We sponsor annual scholarships for Rogers High School seniors who are entering a two- or four-year college or qualifying post-secondary program.
